Mercator Navigation GmbH & Co. KG is a dedicated shipping company established in 2005 by Scorpio Shipping Limited of BVI (British Virgin Islands) and König & Cie. GmbH & Co. KG, known under Scorship Tankers GmbH & Co. KG. and renamed in 2007 into Scorship Navigation GmbH & Co. KG. Since January 2014 the corporate name is listed as Mercator Navigation GmbH & Co. KG and is headquartered in Caffamacherreihe in Hamburg, Germany.
In this regards Mercator Navigation benefits from the combined shipping expertise of its two founders. Their know-how will enable the shipping line to provide its clients with more comprehensive services than its competitors. Mercator Navigation has a team of specialists who commercially charter and operate Handysize and Panamax tankers and Supramax, Panamax and Capesize bulkers.

Prior, Mr. Mahnke was a Member of the Board and Partner of the Nordcapital Group GmbH responsible for business development of all shipping projects (Dry, Tankers, Container and Offshore) and Managing Director of the Nordcapital subsidiary E.R. Offshore.
Prior to that Mr Mahnke was Managing Director of Harper Petersen & Co.(Hamburg, London and Shanghai). Harper Petersen controls 180 exclusive container vessels. In 2003 he was appointed to become Managing Partner in the Nordcapital Group.
Before that Mr Mahnke moved in 2002 to E.R. Schiffahrt to start the chartering and project developing activities in a director position. Between 1995 and 2002 he worked for Frachtcontor Junge & Co. as a chartering manager for a fleet of OBO carriers in the bulk and tanker markets. After his apprenticeship at the shipowner H. Schuldt he started his career as a dry cargo broker at Skaarup Shipping in Hamburg and Greenwich, CT.
is Managing Director at Mercator Navigation. He is a Master Mariner and started his shipping career in Rostock with an apprenticeship at Deutschen Seereederei (DSR). Frank Kunkel sailed on various bulkers, container and reefer vessels and after leaving the sea in 1994, he worked for Poseidon Schiffahrt for several years, where he was responsible for the operation of an OBO fleet as well as bulkers and tankers. In 2009 he joined Scorship Navigation in Hamburg.
